Yearly Pet Photos

One of the things I always discuss with my clients when they ask about Pet Portraiture, is that they should be having professional portraits done of their dogs every year, or every other year. And the reason I tell them this is because I am also a End of Life Pet Photographer associated with the Tilly Project. This means that I take a pets final photos because their parents believe this might be the last chance they will get. And sometimes it can be right as they are holding their pets before they are put to sleep.

One of the many things that gets repeated over and over in every EOL session I do, is the fact that they wish that they had gotten it done more often. A common thing is, “I ran out of time, I just wish I had done it sooner.” The other thing that is brought up is that they wished they had professional photos from before their pets health started to deteriorate. Because they don’t want to remember their pets “like that.”

So I always suggest getting yearly or every other year sessions done of your pets. Its something that you won’t regret later down the road when you can have a wall or photo album full of the memories of your pet.
