Day 59/365 of "Beautifully Mundane"

Today I was on campus at the academy I work for and there was a pink lady slipper blooming on campus. So I had to grab my camera and get a photo. This orchid needs a symbiotic relationship with a type of mycelium to grow. Their seeds don’t come with energy storage like other plants, so the mycelium needs to break into the seeds and provide nutrients. Once it can produce it’s own, it shares with the mycelium!
