Bathed in Gold

Sometimes, the first time making an image, it really doesn’t work out. That’s what happened the first time I made this image.

The above images were the first attempt, and as you can see, instead of gold, it looks like I’m bathing in piss. And that was not the plan! Haha. I had chosen a cheap bathbomb in the hopes that it would color the water how I wanted. Unfortunately it didn’t work out.

So I allowed some time for the idea to sit in my head before I tried shooting again. When I finally did, I ended up using 2 bottles of luster dust, along with yellow, red, and blue food coloring. This combination gave me an almost amber look to the water. These final images where based around the idea of king Midas mixed with a Demi-god.
